Welcome to the Colorado Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) on-line training web site.  Currently this site hosts two training programs for Colorado Peace Officers—DNA Evidence Collection and Retention for Colorado Peace Officers Training Program and the Anti-Bias Policing Training Program.  The goal of these courses are to provide POST approved DNA training for Colorado Peace Officers that meets the requirements of C.R.S. 24-31-311(1), DNA evidence collection and retention and Anti-Bias Policing that meets the requirements of C.R.S. 24-31-309. These programs are designed for:

  • Current Colorado law enforcement officers who must meet the requirements of C.R.S. 24-31-311(1) and C.R.S. 24-31-309
  • Former Colorado law enforcement officers planning to renew their Colorado P.O.S.T. certification
  • Law enforcement officers transferring to Colorado from other states who are preparing for Colorado P.O.S.T. certification

This training is based on Knowledge Factor’s Confidence-Based Learning System. Confidence-Based Learning™ (CBL) is a unique and highly effective learning process we think you'll enjoy. CBL starts by determining what you already know—through an assessment—then creates a targeted learning plan, allowing you to focus on the areas where you most need training, rather than focusing on the knowledge you already know. You repeat the process to achieve mastery—when both correct knowledge and confidence are achieved. With each step in the process, you can track your knowledge and your confidence in that knowledge.

The DNA Evidence Collection and Retention for Colorado Peace Officers Training Program is currently free for all Colorado Peace Officers.  Please click on the “Register” tab to proceed with your registration.

The Anti-Bias Policing Training Program has a $20 fee for this program.  Please click on the “Purchase” tab to proceed with your payment.  Once your payment is received, your order will be processed and you will receive a welcome email with information on how to access the program.

P.O.S.T. was established in 1973 to certify peace officers appointed by state and local law enforcement agencies.  P.O.S.T. establishes training and certification standards for Colorado Peace Officers, as well as regulating basic training academies, reserve training academies, and P.O.S.T. training programs. In addition, P.O.S.T. approves the certification of approximately 14,000 peace officers and approximately 1,000 reserve peace officers.

The Anti-Defamation League was paramount in developing the Anti-Bias Policing Training Program.  The Anti-Defamation League is one of the nation’s premiere civil rights and human relations agencies.  ADL is America’s prime resource for information on and responses to organized bigotry; researching and monitoring dangerous extremists and hate groups.  ADL is a leading source of current information and provides training on extremism, hate crimes and anti-biased policing.  To learn more about the Anti-Defamation League please visit the ADL Law Enforcement Agency Resources Network

We hope you enjoy your experience with Confidence-Based Learning. We feel certain that you are receiving the best training that is designed just for you.
